Insights turns what Skidle already keeps, like shifts, check-ins, and tasks, into a table you can show, download, or print. Only admins can see it. Click Insights in the sidebar. It has two tabs: Builder, where you build and run a report, and Library, where you run or delete the ones you've saved.
Build a report
- Under Report, choose what each row is (see below).
- Under Dates, choose a range, like Last week or This month, or choose Custom dates.
- To narrow it, click Filters, then choose specific People, or Locations if your account uses them.
- Click Columns (it shows how many are selected), then select the ones you want.
- Click Run to see the table. To download it, click Export, then choose CSV or PDF.
The address of the page includes the report you built, so you can bookmark it or send the link to another admin.
Ask AI for a report
Instead of choosing each setting, you can describe the report you want. Type something like "hours everyone worked last week at Downtown" or "which shifts did Maya miss this month," then click Ask AI.
The AI fills in the report type, dates, filters, and columns. Check the settings, change anything you like, then click Run. The AI only chooses settings. It doesn't see or change your data. If part of what you asked isn't something Skidle keeps, like pay or sales, it tells you.
You can also ask for a report under Ask in the help panel, from any page. Click Run report on its answer to open it here.
Each request counts toward your account's AI help allowance.
Types of reports
- Hours by person: One row per person, with shifts scheduled, hours scheduled and worked, late arrivals, and no-shows. You can also add shifts given away and picked up, and each person's Share of hours worked, which is useful for splitting tips.
- Shifts: One row per published shift, with the date, person, location, start and end times, how it went (like worked, late, or no-show), and hours worked.
- Check-ins: One row per check-in, including people who came in without a shift, with break minutes and hours worked. Only available when your account keeps check-ins (see below).
- Tasks by person: One row per person, with tasks done, tasks missed, and tasks still open or overdue.
- Tasks: One row per task that was created, due, or done in the dates you choose, with who it was for, who finished it, and whether it was done on time.
Schedule reports are only available when the schedule is turned on. Hours worked, late arrivals, no-shows, how a shift went, and the Check-ins report all come from check-ins. They're offered only when your account keeps them: checking in is turned on in Skidle, or Square sends its timecards to Skidle. Without check-ins, every past shift would look like a no-show, so those columns are left out, including from saved reports. The Locations filter isn't offered for task reports, because tasks don't belong to a location.
Save a report
Click Save and give it a name, like "Payroll hours" or "Tip share." Saved reports are listed under Library for every admin in your account, with the date each was saved. Click Run to open one, or click the trash can to delete it.
A saved report keeps its settings, not its results. Each time you open it, it runs again for its dates. For example, a saved report set to Last week always shows the week before the current one.
To change a saved report, open it, change the settings, then click Save changes. You can save it under the same name or as a new report. To delete it, click the trash can, here or under Library. Deleting a saved report doesn't change any of the data it reports on.
What reports count
Reports only count what Skidle keeps. Hours are based on check-ins, minus unpaid breaks. Skidle never stores pay. Reports can only go back as far as Skidle keeps the data. See How long we keep things.
