Sync People, Roles and Locations

Syncing brings your people, roles and locations in from another system, like Square, so you don't type them twice. It goes one way: changes made there show up in Skidle. Nothing in Skidle is sent back.

Once it's on, it keeps going. A new hire, a renamed location or a new job title arrives on its own.

To choose what's synced, click Manage, click People, then click Sync. Each part has its own switch.

What each part does

• People: Each person there is added to your team. Someone with the same email as a person you already have is matched to them instead. Names and emails stay up to date. Nobody is deleted: when someone leaves there, they're switched off in Skidle, and their past work stays.
• Roles: Each job title becomes a role. A title with the same name as one of your roles is matched to it.
• Locations: Each location is added, with its time zone. A location with the same name as one of yours is matched to it. When a location closes there, it's archived in Skidle, and its past shifts stay.

When you turn on roles or locations and you already have some, you choose:

• Keep mine and add theirs: Your roles or locations stay, and new ones are added.
• Replace mine with theirs: Roles or locations the other system doesn't have are archived. Ones with the same name are kept.

Archived roles and locations aren't deleted, so past tasks and shifts keep their names.

When a part is off

Anything that isn't synced waits in Mapping, under Integrations. There you match each one to something you have, add it as new, or ignore it. Nothing changes in your account until you do.

Square

Square syncs all three:

• People: Square team members. People who are inactive in Square aren't added.
• Roles: Square job titles. Square uses them for pay, so names like "FOH" or "Team Member 2" come in as they are.
• Locations: Square locations, with their time zones. A location made inactive in Square is archived.

Skidle doesn't read pay rates from Square.
