Check In and Out
People check in when they start, take breaks, and check out, with or without a shift. You can see who's in, who's late, and how much time each person worked.
Checking in tells Skidle that someone is at work. It's how you see who's working right now, who's late, and how much time each person worked. It also lets Skidle assign work to whoever's actually there.
Turn on checking in
Click Schedule, click Settings, then turn on Check in and out. The schedule needs to be turned on first. If your team clocks in with Square, Skidle's check-in button is hidden, and their Square timecards show in Skidle instead. See Integrations.
Check in
On the website, the clock at the top of every page shows your status: a plain clock when you're not checked in, a green dot and your time when you are, and a coffee cup when you're on a break. Click the clock to check in, take a break, or check out. The same buttons are at the top of Schedule, and on the Schedule tab in the phone app.
You don't need a shift to check in. If someone asks you to come in and help with a rush, just check in. If your account has more than one location, you can choose which one you're at, or skip it.
If you check in up to an hour before your shift, or during it, Skidle connects your check-in to that shift. That's how it can tell if you're late or on time.
Take a break
Click Take a break to start a break. If your admin set up types of breaks, like "Lunch, 30 minutes, unpaid," choose one. The clock turns red if your break runs long. Click I'm back to end the break. Checking out also ends any break that's still going.
See who's working now
On the roster, a clock appears next to the name of anyone who's checked in. Hold the pointer over it to see when they checked in. Breaks don't change that time. If someone forgot to check out, click the clock, then click Check out now.
Report on hours
To see hours scheduled and worked, late arrivals, and no-shows for any dates, click Insights and choose Hours by person, Shifts, or Check-ins. You can run it to see the table, or export it as a CSV or PDF. For example, if you split tips based on who worked, add the Share of hours worked column and choose last week. See Reports.
Skidle only tracks time. It never stores pay.
Start a workflow when someone arrives
A workflow can start when someone checks in or out. For example, when the opener checks in, you can give them the opening checklist. When someone checks out, you can ask how their day went.
